There is now an Amateur Radio Club in Westlake Ohio! Several Dover Lodge members and family have started AD0VR, a Masonically-organized Ham Radio club to serve the Northeast Ohio community.
In addition to providing articles of interest on their web site, AD0VR.org, the club is approved by the Amateur Radio Relay League to provide examinations for people to earn their Ham radio licenses. Yet another way Dover Lodge is serving its community!

Calling all 22nd District Lodge Education Officers! On Saturday November 14, 2020, the 22nd District will be holding a Lodge Education Officer workshop in conjunction with the Past Master Convocation. This year the workshop will be held at Westlake Masonic Temple, at 29500 Center Ridge Road in Westlake. All 22nd District Lodge Education Officers, or their designated representatives, are STRONGLY encouraged to attend! Registration begins at 8am, and the session begins at 9am. Business casual dress please!

On Thursday November 5th in addition to our Annual Meeting, Dover Lodge held an education session entitled “The Complete Solomon”. We were fortunate to have our District Education Officer present for the evening’s presentation.
The historic and legendary King Solomon is familiar to Master Masons, but the details of this Biblical King’s life are incredibly interesting and often surprising. During the discussion we explored the facts as related by Jewish Scripture including a study of the Hebrew aspects of his name, contemporary culture, ancient Israel’s interaction with 21st Dynasty Egypt and a blossoming Ethiopia, and some of the myths and falsehoods that surround this legendary king.
Dover Lodge provides premier education for Freemasons, and our DEO remarked in very glowing terms regarding the depth and engagement of the program. Please come join us for your edification in our Royal Art!

On Monday October 5th, Dover Lodge served as host for the Ancient Accept Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland. The Valley Officers were in attendance with the Deputy’s Representative and the Valley Board to discuss upcoming events and to plan for further growth initiatives.
Just another way our Lodge is supporting Masonry at large!

Dover Lodge #489 took a new step in combining our long standing tradition of education with community service! This morning, July 12th at 9:00am, Dover Lodge hosted testing that will result in fifteen men and women receiving their FCC Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) License!
Ham Radio has had a very long history of helping our communities in times of crisis! From hurricane relief with the Red Cross to emergency communications for communities in need, Ham radio has served our country for over 100 years!
Freemasonry and Ham Radio are a perfect blend of education and action that enables our brethren and our community to contribute to the service of humanity! Even during challenging times, Dover Lodge is still working hard to make good men and their communities better!
